Planning our family's spring break trip to China. I have hotels arranged everywhere but Xi'an. For whatever reason (over thinking, no doubt), I can't seem to settle on a hotel. Where did you stay? If you went back, would you stay there again?

We stayed at Citadines Centre... not exactly The Four Seasons but it is centrally located, comfortable, furnished, clean and safe. And since we were out the whole day, it was perfect for us. The only thing we did not like was the buffet breakfast though the to-go was good. The best part are, it is walking distant to the Muslim market and lots of good restaurants, a block or so to public transportation but tucked on a quiet street and room rate is very reasonable.

Also stayed at the Citadines. Very good location and ok rooms. I think that you can get a 2-bedroom unit too.

I stayed at the Ibis just inside the Hebing Gate. It was simple and serviceable, which is to say that it met my needs, period. I'm not sure I would stay there again -- it was just a bit too far from the train station for a taxi upon arrival or departure -- I think that had to do with the then-current system for determining taxi rates; since I was there in 2010, that could easily have changed.

Xi'an has some fascinating sites in addition to the Terra Cotta Warriors and is easily worth visiting for several days -- enjoy!

We stayed at the Sheraton North and it was very nice

I stayed at the Bell Tower Hotel and LOVED the location. One of the main bus hubs was right outside and it was very easy to get back and forth walking around the city.

We stayed at the Bell Tower too, great location, across the street on one side from the Bell Tower, and the famous dumpling restaurant on the other side with the Muslim Temple and bazaar a couple of blocks down. Many shops and eateries in the area. The airport shuttle stops a block away.

It is an older hotel, altho has a Ramada name now, it's a franchise and managed and serviced to Chinese standards. It's fine to stay there, I believe they have suites, just don't have 5* expectations.

We stayed at the Sheraton. Wonderful, helpful staff. Next door to the metro, thus convenient too.

Forgot to mention about the Citadines Centre, it's about 1 1/2 blocks from the airport shuttle drop off point. Very convenient.

We also stayed at the Sheraton North. Subway entrance right there, and there was a nice market around the corner as well.
