my blog while in China- question
I have set up my blog thru google blog spot. China has blocked sites like 'facebook.' Does anyone know if that is true? ( I do not care about the facebook page!) leaving on an adventure of a lifetime next Friday!!!!!!!
Thank you all....Max |
My son has a Blog that he is doing from China. He had to change Blogs because his original Blog was bloceked. His blog is:
sethliz.typepad.com Take a look at it. You can follow his method. |
Thank you, I am not in my 20's and it takes me a bit to get this whole blog thing together...I do appreciate your help. I will give it a shot. Hope it works!!!! Max

I blogged from China and had set up a mailing list in Google, which in essence had my travelogues on it. I don't think blogspot is a problem or at least it wasn't last year.
|
What is and isn't blocked in China varies according to time and place and events. A site you can access today in Beijing may be blocked tomorrow in a different province further west or south.
|
I will remain flexable and optomistic...Thanks...Max

I was in teaching in Korea in June and July and kept a blog. No problems. Last week I was in Beijing and tried to update it. BLOCKED! I could not access nor update. I use blogspot. I also could not access a variety of other social networking sites....so you might want to be flexible and ready to move to another site if yours is blocked.
|
Yes, it seems like if there is any social unrest anywhere, they block access to almost everything.
Do you have a friend at home who you trust with the username and password to your blog? Assuming you still have access to email, you could send them your text and have them post it for you if you cannot access blogger. |
I also have a Google blogspot account, and I was able to blog from Beijing and Chengdu earlier this year. Text + pictures, and had no problems.
|
Rizzuto, you give me hope as my surgical mission begins in Chengde, I believe it is a hop skip from Chengdu.( a few hrs?)The small stuffed animals are packed for the kids, along with scrub hats for the Chineese nurses and I am counting the moments until my life is enriched once again!!!!Max
|
Good luck with the mission! However, while it's nice that rizzuto could blog from Chengdu earlier this year, that is no guarantee that you will have similar access this month.
|
Thanks thursdaysd...ya know, there are no guarantees on anything...so I will just go with the flow and enjoy every last second!!!!Max
