More clarification on Octopus card

Hi.

I read in a HK travel website that the Octopus card may be used on the MTR, Star Ferry, trams, buses, and some minibuses only. Would anyone know which minibuses (Green or red?) do accept the card? I will be in staying in the Hung Hom area and I think I will be taking the minibus often to go to and from Nathan Road area.

Thanks in advance.

Which particular hotel? The harbour plaza metropolis at Hung Hom provides free shuttle services to Tsim Sha Tsui. Timing is every 20 minutes.

Green ones take them.

Red ones (death traps driven by suicidal drivers) don't.

Red public light buses don't have set price or set routes. It's whatever the driver decides to do at that time. They also often stops at somewhere for no reason for extensive amount of time. Actually they are waiting for customers.

Anyways, it's easy to remember. Red, don't go take one. Green, go get on.

Thank you both for your replies. The tip on the free shuttle service is very much appreciated. However, I will be staying at a friend's flat. I think it is near Wing On Plaza. Will I be able to ride the free shuttle even if I am not booked at the Harbour Plaza hotel?

And the memory jog - green for GO, red for STOP - is priceless. Thanks for this. I plan to buy the Airport Express Octopus with 2 AE rides + unlimited MTR. I discovered that this may be bought online at a discount of $15.

I doubt they'll let non-hotel customers ride the shuttle.

Not aware of a Wing On Plaza in Hung Hom. There's one in Tsimshatsui East, however.

It's for hotel guests only. Most times when it's not crowded they do not check by asking for room cards.

If it's TST East then it's a short walk to Nathan Road. I love the walk down the esplanade especially in the evenings.

Thanks again for the replies.

Let me get the exact address of my friend's flat. I may have confused Wing On with another building. Will continue this thread...thanks
