Hello Isis!!! Nice to see you posting here. Are you about finished with your current long-stay in S E Asia? I really hope to see you at the GTG in HNL (or where ever) in late September. Would love to meet up again. Hello to Russ!
Hope the GTG in BKK went well. It should have ended some time ago, as it's Saturday night here in Louisville KY now, so it must be Sunday morning in BKK.

GTG was great - thanks to kuranosuke for the reservation, kuranosuke and IsisMnroe for the food choice and IsisMnroe for dinner!
My first GTG was with two people in Venice, now three in Bangkok, guess I'm working my way up. I had a great time talking travel, and found out that IsisMnroe (and Russ) had just been in India and Sri Lanka too. Russ had a great recommendation for a used bookstore near my current hotel I'll be checking out later today - the ones on KSR were a big disappointment this trip.
Seems all three of them are thinking about a trip to Spain - maybe they'll have a GTG in Madrid. I put in a plug for Portugal, which I'll be revisiting in a week. (Yes, just two more days in Asia...)
Lemongrass was full of foreigners, but the food was very good, especially the beef (?) and ginger appetizer, the shrimp and noodles, the chicken.... I walked from Soi 18 to Soi 24, but I have a damaged foot (again!) and was glad to take the sky train back. I went home and put ice (actually a beer can from the minibar) on the hurt toe, and then crashed - I had gotten up at 5:30 to fly out of Hanoi - and slept for nine hours.
Sorry that MichaelBKK didn't make it. Guess the weather must have been bad. Somewhere...

Thank you Thursdaysd for this GTG and to Kuranusuke for recommending the Lemongrass and setting up the reservations.
Thursdaysd you are a temple buff and DH doesn't do temples very much but we all blended in so well in this lighthearted group! We did agree that the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, India was well worth seeing. Kuranusuke hope you can make it to Rajasthan one of these days.
Thursdaysd, best regards for the rest of your trip!
