its the former, never opened, sofitel opposite the sheraton on the river orgy...that tall one with what looks like a revolving restaurant hanging over the river...

Very interesting... Whenite jsut a few months ago, it was scheduled to open in December and they actually had December rates (very high!) on the site.

Who will be the first Fodorite to review this new river hotel???

yep the millenium on the river looks kind of cool.

Another sofitel is going up neer the westin on sukhunvit....

there are lots of hotels being constructed right now. I hope most of the projects are finished before the construction buble bursts.

This hotel looks like everything I don't like in a hotel. Definitely won't be me who stays there!

I guess the new Regent thats being built on suk 13. and the Ritz Carlton thats still in planning stage may interst ya more.

According to the folks at the Four Season, The Ritz Carlton might have already pulled out of the deal. I was given this information in August 2005. The site of the supposedly Ritz Carlton was right out my window at the Four Seasons so I asked what was being built in hope that it would be either a condo building or a serviced apartment building being that that's my preferred neighborhood in Bangkok. according too a site I've recently found the construction of the The Royal Ratchadamri/Ritz Carlton Hotel and Residence, will continue in November, well that what one guy posted and he seems too be in the know for lots of the projects that are going on in bkk.

Orgy-- I doubt that any of the new large deluxe hotels would interest me. I do everything I can to avoid staying in them. The Oriental is the only exception.
