Mid-range hotel on the river?

Many posts allude to wonderful hotels on the Chao Phraya River such as The Marriot Resort and Spa, The Peninsula, etc., but are there any mid-range hotels on the river which would be worth a look? Thanks

What price do you consider to be mid-range?

I would say up to about 2400 baht, give or take. Thanks.

the royal river is ok, clean and simple and north on the river...boat to river city...northwest air uses it as a budget hotel....the breakfasts were fine, the restaurants fine as well...just not any bkk lux.....we were happy there except for the pool which is very small....

you can get the marriott on priceline for about $47....

the menan is on the river and so is the montein

I always struggle navigating the priceline website. Do you have the exact URL I need to get a good price for the Marriot R & S? I'll be arriving BKK in January. Will the price be way higher then and is it too early to book now? Thanks again

We stayed at the Marriott Resort and Spa in April and paid $47 per night via priceline. I booked it about 4-5 months in advance so I don't think it would be too early to try a bid for January. I also see from reading the posts on www.biddingfortravel.com asia section that winning bids have also been obtained at the same price for the Royal Orchid Sheraton, which is also classifed as Riverside/Silom on priceline.

If you read bidding for travel and also try reading www.betterbidding.com too, then you will get tips on bidding and also be able to see winning bids too.

We also stayed at the Royal Orchid Sheraton (although not through Priceline) in April too, and whilst very nice my preference would be the Marriott, but at $47 who cares which one! Also the Shangri-La has been won recently for $60, so that may be an option too!

Good luck!
