Microlights in Siem Reap

Been up for a couple of flights now and enjoyed it immensely
http://www.skyventure.org/

A daybreak flight over Angkor Wat is particularly impressive. The airstrip is near the Rulous group.

Add it to the list of "other things to do in Siem Reap".

Wow thanks Lori will check that out!

Hi Lori- Did you fly solo? Has their been many crashes with these things?

Smeagol Aug 31st, 2010 09:39 AM

I just checked this out. OMG i could never do that I would be too scared!!! Kudos to you Lori for doing that!

There was just an accident with one of these ultralights in Kealakekua Bay on the Big Island. The owner of the company and his girlfriend were taking a morning flight over the bay when crack....they plunged a couple hundred feet straight down into the ocean.....terrible

Yowch. I'm not getting on one unless there's a chute.

Craig Aug 31st, 2010 12:32 PM

Looks like fun, except for the crashing, plunging part...

Wow what a bunch of chickens my fodors friends are!

I think the ultraglide has a much better chance of surviving a crash landing than the silver bullet you plummet through space in or your way over!

Kathie Sep 15th, 2010 11:24 AM

I'll plead nolo contendere to being chicken.

While an accident in an ultralight is more survivable, the likelihood that the ultralight would crash is much higher than that of the silver bullet crashing. I'll take those odds.

Wuss or wussies(plural) I think are the politically correct terms

One witness in Kona said the microlight dropped straight down like a bowling ball into the ocean. I guess it was the weight of the engine........................> splash

I can't imagine which would be worse, tumbling for thousands of feet in a minute or so or the quick drop and splat. Your right Lori maybe the quick drop and splat sounds better ;)
