men's suits
I have heard that you can have a man's suit made very quickly and inexpensively in Thailand. Anyone know about the prices and recommend a tailor or where to go and find one? thanks

first issue, don'r rush....allow several days and several fittings or you will be disappointed...
prices $200-400 for a supurb suit, maybe slightly less depending on fabrics... i like jack at monet il sarto, 2nd floor bangkok marriott resort and spa mini mall, overlooking the parking lot out front... |
I second Jack but choose a Hugo Boss or Canalli 140 superfine light to middle weight wool for $350-$375 from Jack. It would be $1500-$1800 in USA. Expect 4 fittings in 3 days to get it perfect.

i agree with "rhkkmk"..dont rush the fittings. and one otehr thing..you can get slightly cheaper prices then $200-400..You just have to walk around checking alot of shops. If you need one, you can try out this one i frequently use on my trips to bkk,
Crown Tailor, Sukhumvit soi 8..hope it helps:) |
i took my cousin who was from boston, usa last year. they cost about $150 and up to the material'quality. it took 24 hours to be done.

My firm has an office of about 35 in BK. They tell me on every trip to stay away from the 24-36 hour suit places. Even slacks require 2 fittings if you want $250+ slacks for $60-$70. Suits really need 3-4 fittings. Monet sarto as i said is very good. They also think highly of Raja and a few others so Monet is not the only one to go to, but they have experimented withg others and think Monet is best with raja a close second. But, as I have posted before neither does quality work on womens clothing. Our Sales Manager there says she uses them only for business suits. they do
