Mekong Delta Tour

Hi All: I am interested in a 3 day tour of the Mekong Delta from HCMC. Has anyone had particularly good experiences with a tour group? Not too touristy, off the beaten path, etc. Thanks in advance!

You are not going to find a "Not too touristy, off the beaten path" trip around the delta with a tour group. By definition, tour groups are always going to be very much on well beaten paths.

It is very easy to travel independently in the delta and in three days you could see quite a lot. For some ideas you could have a look at the Vietnam section of our blog where there are half a dozen posts about our time in the delta https://accidentalnomads.com/category/vietnam/

We love Chau Doc but Ben Tre, Cai Rang market, Vinh Long are all worth considering.

Alternatively, there are many Homestays in the delta which will give you a taste of delta life and fix boat rides etc for you.

If money is no object then look at cruise companies like Mekong Eyes - we really got a bad attackof boat envy sitting in our little sampan one evening whilst some people cruise by, sitting in their comfy chairs sipping ice cold gin and tonics.....

Agree with Crellston! Do it yourself if you can not afford a 3D2N cruise.
