Mekong Delta - is it worth spending the night?

I have mainly seen other posts where people talk about a day trip to Mekong Delta. Is that enough time, or is it better to spend the night maybe in Can Tho or somewhere else? I dont want to spend more time somewhere if there are better places to spend our time.

The Mekong Delta is one of the fascinating areas of Vietnam and well worth several days. I encourage you to spend a night in Can Tho so you can see more of daily life than just a fast bus ride down and back. The early morning market on the river is unforgettable. ZZ

Definitely worth more than rushing there and back in a day. Depending on traffic it is at least a 2-3 hour drive there. The floating markets are definitely something not to be missed. Just going on a boat all along the river gives you insight into the way the people live. The Victoria is a lovely hotel in Can Tho.

I just went on a day trip but I think an overnight trip would be the best if you have the time. I loved the Mekong Delta area! I'm planning to go back to Vietnam and will stay longer in Mekong Delta area for sure.

Thanks so much for everyones input. We will definitely plan to spend some time in this area. Does anyone have any thoughts on Chau Doc? As compared to Can Tho?
