Massage in room from What Pho
Hi all:
Have any of you fodorites arranged to have a masseuse come to your room from What Pho on the day of your arrival and if so, how did you do it? We are using Ratt for part of our stay so I could ask her to arrange it. Any downsides to this plan I should know about? |
I was at Wat Po visiting. I went to the Massage school and asked if I could have a massage at my hotel. They asked me for my hotel and room number. 2pm the following day the masseuse arrived at the room and it took about 90 minutes or so. No problems at all -totally professional service- nothing to worry about in my experience

The only downside I would say is that you would be paying a lot more for the exact same thing you can get at Wat Po itself as I did but if that is not an issue then go for it. You will enjoy the experience!

We just did this last week! It cost us like B 1700 for the 2 of us for 90 minutes and they showed up about an hour after we called. It was really wonderful becs we were so tired and didnt want to go out!

annmcd - Do a search for Thai Massage and pull up the post from Nov. Look for GPanda's info found there - he's a big fan and I've cut 'n pasted his info for my own trip next Feb! Enjoy...

We do exactly that every time we're in BKK. You can have Ratt help you do it when you're visiting Wat Pho, this costs 800 Baht for 2 hours per person or you can call the school from your hotel and arrange this yourself. This costs 700 Baht for 1 1/2 hours per person. Either way, the masseuses will arrive at your room promptly. We always ask them to return the next day at a time certain. They're always very willing to do that as well. This is always a highlight of our trip.

Thanks so much for the information, and, of course, I should have searched before asking my question. Sorry and thanks again to all.
