Marriott Bangkok Resort

This hotel is available for mid Dec 2004 on priceline.com.sg for SG75 gross plus charges per night. This rate equates to approx US54 inc charges per night. Just booked 3 nts so I'm happy. Five star hotels seem difficult to procure on priceline for Dec 2004. Good luck guys!!

Lyndie, Was there a way that you were able to ensure getting the Marriott? We're planning our first trip to Thailand in Feb & really want this hotel in BKK above any of the other hotels - including Pen. . Have never used priceline before & am concerned that we may get another hotel instead. Any advice or tips? Thanks!

priceline has no guarantees for specific hotels...their 5* for bkk silom/riverside has been the shangri-la for $55+ for about a year however...

the marriott has disappeared from the usa priceline site for over 6 months...the holiday inn had appeared in its place???

i should have added that we stayed at the marriott last weekend using jamesA's favorite site: www.huahin.20m.com....i paid just about $102 per nite incl svc, tax and breakfasts and incl a 400B hidden processing fee...i was delighted...

we always stay at least some of our time at this marriott

Hi CFW-no way to ensure u get the Marriott but we've used priceline's Singapore website before and always got very good hotels! We've been trying priceline US & Hong Kong for 2 weeks for 5 star hotels at US60-72 with no luck. We always request riverside/silom. This time I tried for 5 star riverside on singapore website (no luck)then adjusted my request to 4 star riverside thinking what the heck-then poof the Marriott came up. We're only there 3 nts on our way back from Koh Pha gnan, Krabi & Samui so it didn't really matter which riverside 4 star we got. I've never been able to get the Shangri-la for less than US70 so Bob was very lucky. The Marriott on hua hin's site for Dec is US99 so we're pretty happy having saved US45 per night. Why not give it a go ASAP. I bid SG75 and cannot see any reason why you would not get it 14 hrs later. Good luck and let us know, pls.

i just booked 3 nites with priceline 4star at
$60 and got marriott bangkok on the river.
i tried 5 star but was denied. ( i did get 3 nites for end of our trip at $60 with shangri-la) . looking forward to trying both hotels
especially after all the threads on both.

does anyone know if the marriott will allow
3 people in their rooms booked on priceline? can i call the hotel directly and
request an additional bed? thanks for all your help

DiveDiva, When are you going?

rhkkmk Jul 20th, 2004 10:23 AM

i think marriott will put another bid in room but it may be tight...there will be an extra charge of course

Lyndie-you do some good travelin'! That's a great deal for the Marriott! I'm looking for Hong Kong now, and I'd like to get the Harbour Plaza, based on your earlier recommendation. Haven't tried Priceline, but will do-maybe I'll tack on BKK at the end of the trip-end of Dec. first of Jan.

Hi Spygirl-we have no kids so spending up while the blood still flows. Motto is "see the world before you leave it!" Husband getting nervous, says "there will be no money left for food" but I told him, "we both need to diet!!!" Try priceline.com.sg for Harbour Plaza and remember 1 US = 1.70 Sing dollar. Harbour Plaza is a five star hotel so keep trying and let us know how you go. We paid approx 200 Sing Dollars Mar 2003. You'll love the place-if necessary upgrade to a harbour view room-you could be lucky and get a free upgrade. The staff are really nice there!!

Lyndie-I'm liking those thoughts-my kind of people! Will keep you posted on Harbour Plaza-however, you know how that is, gotta get the right price FIRST, before I tell everybody!
