Maldives or Bali

What would you do:

Five days at the Maildives Hilton (plus three in Singapore) or eight days at the Four Seasons Jimbaran/Sayan (4 each) in Bali? It is my honeymoon and I can't make up my mind.

Thanks

Congratulations! First of all, when are you going? Time of year could make a difference.

I went to the Four Seasons Jimbaran for my honeymoon. It was the most exquisite and perfect experience I have ever had. The place is breathtakingly beautiful, private and clean. The food is great. Everything was perfect.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. If you have more specific questions about Jimbaran, though, I'd be happy to help -- just post to me at this board (i don't like getting spammed and don't give out my e-mail address). thanks!

i just came back from 6 days in Bali, 3 at Four Seasons in Jimbaran and 3 at Four Seasons in Sayan (Ubu). Unbelievable!! There is so much to do there. I have not been to Maldives, butI think it is a place to mostly sit on the beach. So it depends on what you feel like doing. In Bali, we went white water rafting, trekking in rice paddies, shoppping (MAJOR), went to the spa, ate tons of seafood and still had time for the beach. You can email me at [email protected] if you want more info. PS I live in Singapore, so I can tell you about that too.

I suppose it all depends on what you want to do on your honeymoon.
If you are planning to spend most of your time indoors :) then you might want to save Bali for your second honeymoon. Entertainment options in the Maldives are rather limited - it is pretty much a laze by the pool / sea and not do too much sort of a place. Luxurious, pretty, perhaps a bit sterile. Whereas Bali is much more of a cultural/sensual/sensory experience, and it would be a shame to miss all of that!

I also spend 7 wonderful days at the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay/Sayan. It really was perfect. It would be hard for me to believe that the Maldives Hilton is comparable to either of the Four Seasons in Bali. In Bali you can have it all, the beach, culture, rainforest, hiking, etc.
