Mai Chau Vietnam in late September
Hi guys, I'm going to embark my holiday in Mai Chau Vietnam in late September and spend about 1 week here. Is it enough to explore this place and any suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

September falls into early autumn in Mai Chau and the weather is so nice, so you do a lot of activities. Exploring Mai Chau by motorbike is a good idea if you love adventure. You can take some trekking tours - the most popular ones when coming to Mai Chau. 1 week is not too short, so you can explore a lot.

IMO, Mai Chau, Ninh Binh and Puluong retreat fit in a week.

Here is a link to my blog covering our time in the places suggested by Dinho https://accidentalnomads.com/category/vietnam/ where you may gain an idea of what to expect in the area. We spent about a week there mostly staying in Homestays in the villages but you could spend less and include a caouple of days in Hanoi.
Alternatively, you could easily spend the whole week in Hanoi and not get bored ( depending upon how much you like cities!) but then you would miss out on the essence of Vietnam which is to found in the countryside. |
If you plan to visit Mai Chau, you should not miss visit Ba Khan Lake which is beautiful lake in Mai Chau.

Late September and Early October should be the best time to visit Mai Chau with pleasant climate and blue sky here.
At this time last year, I spend 3 days in Mai Chau to: Stay at Thai ethnic’s stilts house Bike through the lovely fields (one of my most unforgettable experiences) Wear ethnic costumes and take photos Try local typical dishes |
