Mae Hong Son - Help
 

I started out well - booking flights early but have not progressed much further and I am now frantically trying to finalise trip (depart for BKK 24th Jan).

I need 2 nights accommodation in MHS - have tried the Fern Resort but they are full. Can anyone recommend something similar please?

I have already booked 1 night at the Belle Villa - I could try and extend but I thought we could spend some time in MHS itself.

I am planning to hire a car - are you familiar with the area/distance between the Bele Villa and MHS?

Can anyone who has stayed at the Sang Tong Huts in MHS give an overview please?

Belle Villa is about 100 kilometers from MHS, it's in fact on the outskirt of Pai. You're talking about a 2 hour drive through hilly roads with lots of bends. Belle Villa, IMO, is the 2nd best hotel in Pai and if you want something more modern and comfortable then you should check out "The Quarter" hotel.

I was planning 1 night in Pai then drive to MHS for 2 nights. If MHS is appx 2 hour drive from Pai, would make sense I think to stay in MHS?

I am in a quandry about what to book - modern hotel versus hut type of accommodation in/near town.

As only there for 2 nights, need somewhere clean and if not directly in town - easily accessible to town for stroll/choices for evening meal etc.
