Made in Taiwan

Hi, My wife is traveling on business from California to Taiwan and staying at the Sol Hotel. Are there any recomended places to shop. What does Taiwan have to offer in the way of electronics or any other goods that would be cheaper than the US? Also would there be tax consequences coming back to the US?

You can bring back up to US$800 per person duty free.

Electronics are not really a bargain for those of us who live in the US. You can typically get things less expensively on the web. Also, if you buy electronics outside the US, you have to make sure they have an international guarantee.

Near the airport (so well combined with day of arrival or departure if at a convenient time) is a studio pottery village Ying-gi which sells exquisite ceramic wares. They supply table ware all over Asia but alsoa have very exclsuive one off decorative pieces.
