Lunar New Year in Nepal

We are planning a week or so in Kathmandu during Chinese New. Year. That is when our daughter and son-in-law have some time off. I see that the lunar New Year is celebrated in Nepal as "Losar". The Hyatt is already booked for that time in Feb 2015. What is Kathmandu like at that time? Will we still be able to see the various temples, Durbar squares etc.? Will it be extra crowded? I realize that we will have to make our bookings soon.

The Hyatt is already booked that far out? I'd call them and see if that is correct, it may be that they have not released rooms.

I haven't been there for Losar, but I have been there at the time of other festivals, like Tihar. There were more people on the streets but I don't know that there were more visitors. You should be able to visit all of the Durbar squares, temples, shrines, etc.

This link suggests that any celebrations will be low-key, and out of sight of the Nepalese authorities...
