Luggage at new BKK airport

I was just wondering since I am leaving saturday and I no a few people have been to BKK and back since I last read the posts. Are they still having luggage problems? I put address labels to my hotel on all my luggage. Will the airport staff or the airline dleiver my bags to the hotel if I don't get them when we land?

thanks,
rachael

We received all our luggage (both international and domestic arrival) without incident in late November.

I did pack all the necessities in my carry-on because of the previous posts, however.

I put address labels with the information for my hotel on my bags...changed for the different trips as appropriate. but as mentioned, didn't need them. good luck!

I've been out and back through the new airport 3 times since opening. It's taken forever for the luggage to come out every time, but never gone missing.

The main luggage problem was with transfers through the airport.

I have been out and back of the new airport twice and both times I had my luggage within 10-15 minutes after coming through customs. Seems to be going fairly smoothly! Customs was also a breeze both times I went through.

If your plane parks at a far away or remote gate, your luggage will be waiting for you when you get out of customs. If you park at one of the close gates, like D3, you'll be waiting a little while.

the airport is fantastic really..

my oct 29th arrival on air france at 4:40PM was a breeze....we were amongst the first at the luggage pickup and the bags came out in about 5 minutes or less...

my arrival from india on thai air at 0530AM on nov 18 was another deal all together when we waited over an hour for our luggage....

like many things in thailand there are inconsistencies

We arrived at the new airport twice in November and had no problems or delays getting our luggage.
I always print an itinerary with dates, flight numbers, and addresses and phone numbers of destinations. I put one inside the luggage. On the outside, I fold and put another one in a plastic envelope that fastens with a strap and says in MANY languages: My itinerary is inside. Please examine if luggage is misplaced. Thankfully, in all our travels it's never been tested, but it makes me feel better having it. I think I got the holder from Magellan's about 7 years ago.

Don't worry. Just the display that tells you which conveyor your stuff can be picked up at is stupid. It switches from Thai to English too fast.

No matter how long it takes, your transportation to your hotel will still be there. Pre-arranged or not. Mai Pen Rai.
