I hope weather.com is not totally correct!
Have you found you need heavier than a long sleeved shirt/blouse, even at night? Are there cool enough breezes to merit a sweater/light raincoat?
I am not too familiar with the type of weather I am imagining in BKK and Siem Reap/ PP. I don't want to take any more than I really need to.
I always take a shawl/ pashmina
-was also thinking of a light raincoat / car coat length and foldable umbrellas, of course
-a windbreaker type jacket for my husband?
Should this be enough?
Thanks

It was raining the other day when we left central BKK, but it was dry as we got onto the highway heading to the airport. The rain is very sporadic. Other than that shower, we had the most gorgeous weather for our holiday visit. And no, a jacket was never needed. (although the AC on the skytrain.. some of them that is... was really cranked up! WOW!! I'm surprised ice wasn't forming!! But my skytrain ride is usually only a few stops so I just had to grin and bear it. I would not bother with a jacket! I like a cotton shirt with some sleeves to it, just to cover up shoulders and upper arms, but that's not due to the temps.

Oh, I bought a rain cover up at the dollar store. It's in a plastic bag. I've carried it to BKK several times now, and have yet to open the package! Very compact. Would fit easily into a day pack, to be used if necessary.

My sincere apologies, lin; I was tagging along on your thread, as we're visiting the Chaing Mai area next week. Also, a general curiosity about the variables of Thai weather from region to region. Like lin, Thailand is a very different climate for us. I never see a picture of Thais in down parkas!

Cattail, take a look at one of the weather sites to check for historical weather patterns. I like www.weatherbase.com
Actually, one of our regular Thai posters took his family to Switzerland to ski last winter, so we got to see photos of Thais in down parkas. lol.
