looking for small group tours to China

I would greatly appreciate suggestions and recommendations of small group tours (15 max) to China. I am looking to go mid-March to early April. It does not seem like a popular time to go with tour operators. I am also interested in travelling with a group that would attract a wide range of ages. Thanks.

Hi Margot,
A friend and I are going to China (Apr 09-Apr30) with GOWAY tours, flying from San Francisco. I'm not sure how many will be going, when we booked, there were only two others. We have a very full itinerary. I'd be happy to give you any information about this tour - e-mail me if you like.

Margot,

We are booked for a journey into China from May 11 this year and the booking was made through Intrepid Travel who have a site on the net and a number of China tour options. They specialise in groups not larger than 12 and are escorted by tour leaders who can speak Mandarin.

Regards

keith

Rosemary: I would love to know more about your trip in April. I tried to email you, but the email was returned to me and was not delivered for some reason. I will try again. But, if you do not hear from me, please try to email me about your tour. Thanks. Thanks Keith too!

Hi

I took my three kids on an Asia tour about 4 years ago. I went on Chinapac International. They are out of Vancouver, but probably have offices in the states. There address was
Chinapac International
STE 301, 1195 WEST BROADWAY
VANCOUVER, B.C. V6H 3X5
TEL 604-731-1693
FAX 604-731-1694
TOLL FREE CANADA 1-800-661-8182
TOLL FREE U.S. 1-800-887-8382

We were able to go on the tour with just 6 of us. There was a slight surcharge though because they preferred to have 10.
It was great having a smaller group because the tours went much faster, you didn't have to wait for 30 people to go to the bathroom, or get lost shopping etc.

The hotels from this tour were extremely nice, the guides were very friendly, fluent in English, and knowledgable. We had no problems with any of the arrangements, except for getting fogged in in Xian for 3 hours. Most of the meals in China were included in the price.

This tour group seemed to have more variety in the choices in the tours.

Remember if your going in April to dress for a cooler spring climate. When we went it rained the entire time we were XIAN.

I felt that the people were the friendliest in China of all the Asian countries, especially to my kids. They love children.

The hotels we stayed in exceeded some of the standards that we're used to in North America.

Have a great trip.
