Looking for 3 star hotel near siam sq/mbk
 

will be in bkk second wk in oct. and looking for a $30-$50 hotel near on in major shopping area. looked at asiahotel and found several ie baiyoke suite and white palace hotel. baiyoke suite was listed at $30us, but at hotel site, it was $70. i thought the rates would be better directly from the hotel site.

i know that a few fodorites on this site have gotten good deals using priceline, and while i don't mind staying at sgl on the river for $50 a nite, i prefer to be in a shopping area for this trip.

can anyone recommend hotels that i can select from?

have you considred staying around sukunivit NANA/ASOKE station.. only 2/3 stops from Majore shoping area. but suk is bussy as it is.

well if you do check Suk.. your options of 30-50 places are almost endless. again best value are your apartments

There's a Novotel in Siam Square itself and there are a couple of hotels in the MBK complex - "Pathumwan Princess" and there is another one that I don't recall the name. They are all 3 stars and of the two I've mentioned I think the Pathumwan Princess is better.

orgy7 and hanuman: thanks for the info. i'm considering the baiyoke suite right now.

don't forget, orgy7 and other fodorites in bkk(farangs and locals), lets get together for a few brews while i'm there. orgy7 pick a place(not too exotic) and lets all plan to be there.

darn I hoped you'd know a place too have a beer..

the boyoke suites are right in the midle of pratunam market. VERRY BUSSY.. but they do seem really cool since the rooms are so high up.
