Lombok for The Day
 

We will be sailing on Celebrity Millenium in January 2013. We will be in Lombok for one day. Any recommendations on a place to hang for the day. Beach/food/ taking it easy..

Cruise shops are stopping in Lombok? BIG cruise shops are stopping in Lombok? Now I'm depressed.

Yes, big cruise ships are beginning to go to SE Asia. WE have a two week cruise beginning in Singapore- Komodo, Lombok, Bali, Pt Klang, Penang and Phuket. Most places the ships do not come in to port, but tender passengers in.

I don't know the name of the port. I guess I can find out.

Cruise ships have ben going to SE Asia for many years, thursdays shock was that one was stopping at Lombok, perviously a sleepy little island. I assume you dock in or near Mataram, the largest city. You could hire a taxi to drive you around the island or you could go to a resort and relax for the day.
