Lodging on Koh Samui

We will be in Koh Samui with another couple (all of us in our 30's) in late March. We would like to stay close to the action (probably Chaweng), but still in a relaxing atmosphere. We are looking at spending roughly $100 per night per couple. We are most interested in a place with a little Thai atmosphere as well. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Chaweng Resort is also good (Thai Style Bungalow Resort). The Chaweng Resort, Samui is centrally located towards the north of Chaweng beach. You can check it out from this page : http://www.hotelsguru.com/showhotel-9407.html

Its attractive contemporary Thai architecture blends beautifully with the natural environment and tropical garden. Each one has a private balcony over looking crystal clear sea and white of the beach.

I just stayed at Baan Haad Ngam on the northern end of Chaweng Beach in September. It was wonderful and in an ideal location. The northern end of the beach is a bit quieter and more tranquil, but quite close to the action. The atmosphere here is great - contemporary thai with a very clean feel. Fun crowd as well. I am 27 and was with my boyfriend who was 28, it was great.
