Location of Jim Thompson Outlet

Where is the JT outlet? How do I get there? I remember seeing a post on this, but can't locate it with the search. Thanks

You can go on the sky train all the way to On nut , then we always walk from there it's another 5 minutes.... I think Bob gets a cab from the sky train... Actually there maybe a stop past On nut now.. Look at the sky train map.

There is a stop beyond On Nut (one or two stops) which puts you closer to the outlet store.

Thought so Kathie, last time we went I seem to remember going further on the ST
Great Pad Thai at the Cafe there..... For me the Outlet isn't that amazing I have yet to see anything I wanted to buy but that is not to say its not worth a trip there......

Smeagol's comments remind me to tell you not to have expectations too high for the outlet. I've found some wonderful things there at great prices - a monkey tapestry purse everyone loves, several great duvet covers, but other times I've found nothing.

I take a taxi all the way from my hotel or where I am... There is now more stops after on nut, so you go one additional stop after on nut which is just past soi 93.

The outlet is one long block down soi 93 on the left....watch for large brown JT sign...

4 floors of merchandise... Cloth on 1, 2 and 3... Gen'rl merchandise on 4.... Very good JT cafe---great for lunch and snack on 4...

We have had very good luck with yard goods---upholstery goods especially and drapery fabrics especially.

Karen also buys lt weight fabrics to have thai tailors fashion items for her..

The fabrics are wonderful. I have yards and yards of a great fabric which I will get to for a project once I retire - lol. I have purchased heavy silks for upholstery as well as lighter fabrics for draperies. Note that there is another JT outlet store across the street from the main JT store on Suriwong that is all fabrics.

I visited the outlet two trips back but was very disappointed as everything seemed just as expensive as in their shops. Perhaps when they have a sale there would be better bargains.

Thanks, everyone. We aren't looking for anything special, just thought we'd check it out.

Below are some exact directions on the sky train. (I tend to write down directions so I don't have to try to figure them out the next time!). I am in Bangkok 1+ times a month for work and stop in a few times a year. If you are looking for fabric to make something, I would think you could find what you need. If you are looking for clothes, bags, pillow covers, etc and keep an open mind you should be able to find things. The prices are a little less than the retail shop, there are some items more discounted as well.

DIRECTIONS:
Take the sky train to Bang Chat (E10). Take exit 5 out of the station. When you get to the stairs down to the street, take the staircase on the right side, going down to the left side. Walk straight to Soi 93 (about 2 blocks, there is a 7-11 on the corner, still there as of about 6 weeks ago). Go right onto Soi 93. Walk about 1/4 mile and it is on the left. The sign is not huge but you will find it.

(The Thai food in the cafe is pretty good.)

The outlet is hit or miss...it is an outlet. Well worth the trip, but you need to be an open minded shopper, not going for something very specific. Tons of fun to poke around. If you are looking for fabric, the guys on the 2nd a nd 3 rd floor are very helpful with suggestions , color matches , and yardage.

Reporting in...I'm sure we would have found it on our own, but the directions esp by Lizzie were spot on, so it was a snap. The visit was decidedly a hit for us. We had fun exploring and bought several gifts, some fabric which was our main objective, and a few assorted other items. Glad we went and thanks again for your help. Only had a mango smoothie at the cafe. We had eaten breakfast a few hours before.
