Local agents in Sri Lanka

I'm after some recommendations for local travel agents to use in Sri Lanka to organise a driver and guides for about a 12 day trip for two ladies. I have seen one fairly recent recommendation for Antiquity but, unfortunately in may case, the response (or should I say non-response) has been very disappointing so far. They acknowledge my emails but then never provide any further info.

I used Boutique Sri Lanka.

Thanks Thursdaysd, I assume you were happy with them?

Yes. If you click on my name for my profile you can find my TR.

I also used BSL, and they did a great job for me.

I am now working with BSL and am very happy with the agent I'm working with (Chamila K). I will be going to SL in early February and so far, the response, the communication has been excellent and I feel comfortable and confident in our planning. However, I think having the right agent is important; there was someone recently who was not as happy with the agent she worked with at BSL.

I used Reddot and was not very happy with either the organisation, or the driver who was replaced halfway through our trip - ( his replacement was much better driver). Whichever organisation you do use, I would strongly recommend going through any itinerary, accomodation options with a fine tooth comb to ensure they are exactly what YOU want, rather than the pre packaged options usually put forward as a first option.

As fo non responses, this is very common in Sri Lanka. The only reason I went with Reddot was that they were one of the few that responded and only then after I called them. As I recall BSL took a couple of months, by which time it was almost time to go.

Thanks for the recommendations all. I'll give BSL a try. I read your TR Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was interesting that you thought Ella was better than Nuwara Eliya, so I'll look into that a bit more.

Glad you enjoyed it. I didn't spend much time in Ella, but liked the look of the surroundings.

The best option would be to use a reputable and well established local tour company. I name below a few

https://www.tangerinetours.com/
Pan Lanka Travels Private Holidays to Sri Lanka
https://www.walkerstours.com/
http://www.jetwing.com/

Mohammed, thank you for your input. I'll contact several of the agencies and see which one feels like a good fit for us.
