7th depart to Samui 1- 3 PM ( Lawana 7th, 8th, 9th )
8th - 10th Samui ( snorkling, kayaking, national park )
10th @ 18:00 depart to BKK ( Centre Point Silom 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th )
11th self guided touring
12th Tong, royal barge procession ( cross your fingers for tickets !!! )
13th Tong
14th floating market, relaxing
@ 19:00 Depart to Siem Reap
15th - 16th @ Angkor Wat
17th 11:00 depart to BKK ( meet Tina's classmate and show her a little of BKK )
18th get Tina & her friend to CM for her massage course
19th 06:00 depart for SF

Sounds good. Do you have a guide in SR, or are you going to get a driver when you're there. Don't forget passpost pictures for SR, you'll need at leats two. To be safe, have four.

We'll have several passport photos.

Lloyd - looks great. Much improved from your original plans, from what I remember. You'll love Centre Point Silom. On your day of self-guided touring, it will be so easy to walk from Centre Point to the pier and catch the water taxi to the Grand Palace. Also, you'll be very close to the skytrain - and an easy ride to the MBK mall and a 10-15 minute walk to Jim Thompson's house. Two days in Siem Reap will seem a bit rushed, but you'll get a taste of it, at least. I'd see sunrise over Angkor Wat on your last morning before flying out.

Ah, better! You'll have more time at Angkor.

In that case (and yes, it's much better!), I'd include a trip to Tonle Sap Lake. It's amazing. We had almost exactly the same amount of time you did, although our flight was maybe an hour later. On our third day, we did sunrise over Angkor, followed by breakfast, and then Tonle Sap all in the morning. After our lunch break we finished with Ta Prohm and a couple of other temples (nearby) and our guide, Dara, then took us straight to the airport. It worked quite well. The details are provided in my trip report (After all that agonizing, Karen and Julie...) if you want to check it out. You've got a great itinerary now, I think.

Lloyd - this sounds great. The future wife is a lucky lady! Has Tong managed to get you royal barge procession tickets yet? I am sure she will not rest until she has achieved this!

I hope that when you post back you will include some details of your wife's course in Chiang Mai. I am a practising massage therapist and aromatherapist and would love to go on a course in Thai massage! (I teach law as well - I have what is called a 'portfolio' career!)

We are in Thailand for 5 weeks this summer but my little girl is just a little too young to be left without me whilst I go on a course in either Chiang Mai or Bangkok. So next time...
