emd, My husband's uncle took us to the airport, parked at the curb and walked us in to first attendant who checked for boarding passes and passports. There was no screening of luggage until we got to the Singapore Airlines counter. The whole check-in process was very smooth. Lots of signage for easy navigation, and each airline now has multiple spacious, well-staffed separate counters. There was no line when we arrived, yet each counter position was staffed. We were asked if our seats were acceptable, and she made an easy change for the five of us.

We went to get a late lunch then wandered over to the security area. The passport control was effortless, and security was a breeze. Efficient, fast, no delays, except the one we created ourselves with my daughter's "missing" wallet. We had quite a long walk to our gate, and still plenty of time at that point, so we did a little shopping. We ended up staying a few minutes too many, so by the time we got to our gate, they were boarding. There were three well-marked lines for each class-first, business and economy. There were boarding announcements in Japanese and English. I didn't notice any flight attendants holding up signs, but the attendants at the check-in desk saw us coming with our kids, and approached us to board immediately. All in all easy as could be...Sounds like it used to be a nightmarish hassle before. Not anymore. They have their act together.
