Leaving for PHuket and Krabi tomorrow
Hi all,
Do we need to bring water shoes? Are there a lot of rocks on shore or in the water? Any last minute recommedations for restaurants/bars/boat tours? |
Phuket is a big place. At some beaches there are rocks, at others it's pure sand. We would need to know exactly which beaches you are visiting to be able to be at all helpful.

Karon beach

It's advisable to take water shoes for any part of Thailand. Never mind Phuket.

Didn't mean to sound sharp, there are natural hazards nearly everywhere and sadly man made ones too. ie broken glass. Been to many Thai beaches and yet to find one with zero foot hazards.
|
Have been to dozens of different Thai beaches and never got any harm. But heard a buddy of a friend of mine just stepped on a small shell in HuaHin, got an infection he not recognized and lost a big part of his leg several months later. But this is just a single case. Contrary to leigh I must say that Thai beaches in general are not more dangerous than any other beaches around the world. But to be on the safer site take shoes.
Karon beach is mostly sandy and there are not many stones or rocks around. Karon is a small place compared to Patong and so you better find out for yourself regarding restaurants etc. |
