Late December Cambodia and Vietnam question

Hi all,

Has anyone been to Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh City, or the Mekong Delta in late December? I live in Korea so access to summer clothing in December is going to be interesting to say the least. *smile*

What are temps like? Since it is the "cool and dry" season do I need to cart rain gear? Long sleeves? How do shorts go over when worn by 9 year old children? Is sleevless ok?

At the moment my packing list is all about your suggestions.

:)

It may be the "cool and dry" season, but it's still hot and humid! I didn't get wet from rain, but from sweat. I wear short sleeves (not sleeveless) and long trousers everywhere in S.E. Asia, but it shouldn't matter for kids. You can get clothes made cheaply in HCMC - look in the Ben Thanh market area.

I agree with thursdays. It may be the cool season, but it seem to mean that it is merely very ho as opposed to incredibly hot!

http://uk.weather.com

10 day forecasts and climate stats for Phnom Penh and HCMC. Type in the city, make sure spelling is correct or type in the country and search.

The weather site I like: www.weatherbase.com

It gives historical records of highs, lows, rainfall, etc.

Don't worry Bob. I am a middle school English teacher. I'll whip out a nice packet of diagram the sentence exercises and send any and all back across the DMZ. Those who don't turn back immediately face additional grammar exercises followed by a stream of standardized tests.

No worries. Stronger have collapsed in the face of less.
