Last Minute Advice for Japan

We're headed to Japan in just under 2 wks & I've read sooo much information over the last 6 months that I'm kind of overwhelmed with it all! We will be staying w/ a friend in Osaka & travelling to Kyoto, Kobe, and possibly Nobu. So, I'm looking for a last ditch effort of your one or two must see/ must do things.

Also, pretty sure the answer is yes, but can I bring liquor that I buy duty free into Japan?

TIA!

u want to devote a day to walking the philosopher's walk in Kyoto and visiting the 5 or so temples along the way :)

also, see if there's any Sumo you can get to (although that may be hard outside of Tokyo)

My guess is that you will miss the March sumo tournament in Osaka, but go see a baseball game at either Osaka Dome or Koshien. See the hanshin Tigers play if possible, and sit in their fan section.

yes the philosopher's path is wonderful as is the flea market on the 21st of the month. The only regret I have is not having time for a Love Hotel; if you're in Osaka you have fine choices.

Go see the Miyako Odori in Kyoto.

Don't bother taking an umbrella with you, they are cheap over there.
