Laos or Kerala?
 

Hi friends,can anybody plz help me to know which is better laos or Kerala. I only prefer to go to a cold whether destination.iam planning a trip somewhere in between jan-feb.if anybody has been to these places,help me give information in detail. Thanks:)

If you mean which has cooler weather the answer is Laos. Use weatherunderground.com for historic weather info.

I have been to both at that time of year. Kerala is definitely warmer. However, I would base my decision on what your interests are since they are such different destinations.

Thanks buddies for ur sincere helps..so basically its a honeymoon trip.I just saw pics of kerela n Laos. Both look great but thru images we CNT knw d exact thing.we prefer to go to v.less crowded and cool place which has more scenic beauty like mountains or river or water falls tht we can enjoye.where we also can get to stay in some great resort.

I think if you want to go to great resorts, Kerala is your best bet.

I don't do resorts, but I think julies is correct.

If you are looking for a resort, Kerala is a better bet than Laos, which has very few resorts, and no real luxury resorts. There are a few resorts outside of Luang Prabang.

If you want a resort and cooler temps and are not dead set on these two choices consider Chang Mai Thailand especially in Jan.

You might also consider a resort in Tea Country in Sri Lanka. There are some lovely places there.

FWIW a friend of ours raved about Sri Lanka though I am not sure what part he was in.

I would add that Thailand is budget friendly as is north Vietnam and Hoi An has resorts and the weather is nice there in the winter. There were some visa issues related to a big jump in cost at least for US tourists though I am not aware if it has changed yet.

However, you've provided kind of vague info, which makes it difficult to recommend anything. What is your approx budget per night ? Where are you traveling from ?
You say you chose these two destinations based on some pictures. Have you done any further research?

I think you should choose Laos because Kerala definitely warmer. Laos is a great place and has stunning scenery, from limestone mountains to dense forests and spectacular waterfalls.

In the month of January or February as you mentioned, Kerala is definitely cooler and you can visit there. In spite of being cooler,it has got a lot of places to visit.There are many hill stations in Kerala which I would like to mention as i have visited some of them personally. There are also many beautiful resorts out there in Kerala which you will lack in Laos. So definitely Kerala is the place that you should visit In the month of January or February.
