Hi there-
I'd like to have suggestions on the best area to stay at Langkawi, my parents would like to be near the sea

Being an island there are lots of great beaches in Lankawi and you are never too far from the sea but it is really all about hotel choice. Four Seasons as suggested by Craig on Tanjung Rhu is great as is the Tanjung Rhu Resort ( a lot cheaper). The. Datai is on a very small, but very pretty beach and has its own small island just off the beach.

The Rebak Island Resort is fantastic in every way, you might want to look into that.

We stayed at The Datai a few years ago - very expensive! - I won a trip :-)

Its sister property, The Andaman, is also on Datai Bay, right on a beautiful beach.
