Langkawi

I've planned to Langkawi next month on Hari Raya for 4 nights. I've bought the airline ticket dan reserved for the hotel. But I'm afraid of tsunami after Sumatra's earthquake yesterday. Can anyone give some reasons whether keep going there or cancelled it. Many thanks...

Hi

Natural disasters can happen more or less anywhere at anytime so I don't think this earthquake should keep you from going.

If there was going to be a tsunami after the Sumatra quake it already would have happened.

All of Indonesia is on an earthquake zone, just as California is an earthquake zone. No one can predict earthquakes, but it doesn't keep people from living in and visiting Indonesia and California.

Hi roomate,

We have planned for our trip somewhere around Hari Raya too..and we will be staying at Mutiara Burau Bay which is by the sea...just don't worry and go ahead with your plan..

Oh don't worry. Langkawi is far far away from Bengkulu (where the latest quake hit).

I was speaking to my sister who is staying at the Datai this week and they were unaffected.
