Any one stayed or know about the Mutiara Burau Bay Resort or the Amana resort in Langkawi. I am looking for beach/waterfront lodging under $75. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.<BR><BR>Is it safe to rent motorcycles on the island?<BR>

I can't help you with the hotels...I'm always in more budget accomodation when I'm there!<BR>Motorcycles - yes, the roads aren't very crowded at all, hardly any cars outside of Kuah. Just make sure you wear a helmet - the temptation not to is huge but you're mad if you don't. Also it's very cheap - about &pound;5 a day. They're v easy to learn to drive too.

Any clean budget accomodations please? Also are there any good public beaches with shade?<BR>Thanks

hi Chakri,<BR>well, I think maybe you'd have to stay in a resort type place to get somewhere that provides unbrellas...<BR>have you looked at the Pelangi on Cenang beach? It has huge pool, lots of shaded space, near to the beach, (go check:<BR>http://www.langkawi-hotels.com/pelangi/<BR>for more details.<BR>Cenang is a more interesting place to stay than Burau Bay as there are quite a few lovely restaurants within walking distance whereas Burau bay is in the middle of nowhere.<BR>HOpe that helps a little...!
