Kyoto hotels
We are choosing between staying at the Granvia or Nikko Princess hotels for 3 nights, before moving to a ryokan. We will be there in April for a wedding anniversary trip. We were hoping to stay at the Grand Hyatt but couldn't get in. Any opinions on which is better. Thank you.

Granvia is very nice and convenient. I'd stay there.

Hi,
My friend who's from Kyoto recommended the Granvia, however here you got some info on both of them: http://destinia.com/hotels/granvia-k...asia/105348/en http://destinia.com/hotels/nikko-pri...asia/105423/en Hopefully the links work, if not you can find it surfing here http://destinia.com |
Thanks all - we couldn't get into either one and had to opt for Century Kyoto .. and at a fairly high rate too. Will let you know how it goes next week.

I can't speak for the Nikko, nor the Granvia personally, but Granvia is #1 on Tripadvisor...
My husband and I have stayed at the Westin Miyako and the Hyatt Regency our two times in Kyoto so far. They are further away from the centre of things, but only a short, enjoyable walk (or train ride in the case of the Westin) and very nice too. However, based on all the many glowing reviews we've read about the Granvia, we are going to try it this next time we go, in December! |
