Kuala Lumpur airport hotel?
I am flying from Bali to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and have a stop-over in Kuala Lumpur. I will arrive in KL at 11:15pm and fly out the next morning at 8:50am. I have time for nothing but sleeping, so can you recommend a cheap-yet-comfortable hotel in or near the airport? I cannot spend more than $50. Ideally, I'd spend even less. Thanks!

Concorde Inn, shuttle to/from main terminal, it used to be cheaper around US$ 50 but possible not anymore, probably around US$70 on a last minute deal.

we recently stayed at the pan pacific, which is the only hotel we saw there at the airport...
they have special rates for various airline...i think i paid $135 using an air asia rate....its a very nice hotel... i think they must have speeping rooms at the airport as well?? |
There is an Airport Hotel, but since I think you're flying Air Asia, the airside hotel probably isn't an option.
There is indeed a Concorde Inn quite close (less than 10 minutes) to the airport. The lowest rate I see at the moment is $54. |
fyi---there are actually two airports that serve K/L in the same vacinity....one is the regular new international airport and the other is what they call the 'low cost carrier' airport....air asia flies to the low cost on....
it is what i would describe as a limited service airport....all flights take off from gates to which the customers walk to rather than having a bridge swing out to the plane....the walk can be 2-6 minutes....its sort of a scramble as there are no seat assignments, thus it is important to do 'express boarding' which allows you on first...its not a hastle at this airport at all and in fact it is all very efficient.... the two airports are about 20 minutes apart by taxi... at the low cost airport you need to go to a taxi ticket booth to get a ticket and pay for your ride...no regular taxis... |
We arrived at LCCT, took taxi to Concorde Hotel then used their shuttle to get to KLIA the next morning. Frankly, the hotel was old and tired and expensive by Malaysia standards (about $65 inc taxes just last week). That said, the service was excellent, breakfast better than expected (though not great) and it was very, very clean. The Pan Pacific, the only other choice we could find very near to KLIA, was much more expensive. For one night's sleep, the Concorde is just fine.

The C/Inn has been around a long time now, I think of it more as a 'motel' but it's a good low cost option.

Check out Jawadene.
You can contact via Asia Rooms http://www.asiarooms.com/malaysia/ku.../jawadene.html And see excellent reviews in Trip Advisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...r.htmlIt's a B&B near the airport. Very nice new house in a gated community. The owner is American who will meet you at the airport (either one)and drive you round trip. Prices very reasonable in the $50 range. Stayed there in February and really liked it. Will always stay there when needing an airport hotel in KL. Bon Voyage |
