Krabi, Thailand VS Halong Bay, Vietnam

I visited Krabi 2001 and enjoyed several day trips ( including kayaking and snorkelling ) around the limestone karsts in the area. I'm now contemplating a Vietnam trip and wondered whether a junk trip on Halong Bay would be more of the same?

I welcome your comments if you have visited both areas. Thanks.

I've been to both twice, visiting the Krabi area first and personally I prefer the Krabi area. For my money, Halong bay was more of the same. To be fair, I think it may have something to do with Krabi being the first time I saw karst formations and also the weather was much warmer in Thailand, which I am sure had an impact.
