Krabi Resorts: Alcohol?

I don't mean to sound like a lush but we are looking forward to some nice cold libations while drinking in the beautiful scenery while staying on or near Railey Beach.

I read a comment in a review that Sand Sea Resort on Railey West doesn't serve alcoholic beverages due to it being a Muslim owned hotel. For that reason my boyfriend would rather stay at Sunrise Tropical on Railey East.

Can anyone confirm this? Does Sunrise Tropical serve beer at their bar? If they don't, can we bring our own beer while dining?

Thanks!

Tamara

As far as I know, all the restaurants in Railay serve alchohol.

Railay Village does not serve alcohol. You can buy it at a bar close by. Not sure about Sand & Sea or Sunrise, but Railay Bay serves alcohol. At Ao Nang, Somkiet Buri does not serve alcohol. I'd email Sunrise and ask. Yes, many of the places on Railay are owned by muslim people who don't serve alcohol. You can buy beer and coolers at the shop between Railay East & West. I'd take a bottle of wine from duty free at BKK airport or from home. Wine quality, at many of these resorts, where power is sometimes restricted, is questionable! Have a great trip!

Thanks for the publicity, Robert. I'm making enough bucks from the bar stand to have 7 weeks in Asia from Nov 14.

Have I mentioned this, before?
