Komodo Island and Komodo Dragons Post
Hi there!
I have posted about my trip to Komodo Island to see the Komodo Dragons. There are photos in the post as well. My Travel Blog is located at: www.LutherBailey.blogspot.com |
I'm still chuckling over your account of the visit to Komodo. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Kathie! :-)

Luke, great photos and commentary. I've lived in Indonesia for 15 years and never yet made it to Komodo. Have to ask though, how was the weather? Would you say it was hot? :)

Thanks for keeping us all posted. Very nice pics.

marmot; We just returned from a an expedition cruise around Sulewesi and one of our last stops on March 16 was Komodo Island. I can tell you it was very hot but the humidity probably was as high as the humidity, both 85++. We did see several dradons on our tour with the guide, a few wild boar, a number of tree horn deer and muskrat. Though I cannot tell you the names our guide from the ship pointed our several rare species of birds along the route. The snorkeling and diving was very good but it does not compare to Bunaken, and is equivalent to Monado, spots in the Togean and Baggii Islands.

Wow! Interesting creature in a diverse biological landscape.

Thanks everyone! HOT...is an understatement. LOL. I suppose it depends on what time of the year you go.

I am a big fan of Komodo dragons. I have visited the Komodo islands last year it was really good!

Thanks for a charming blow by blow of the action. Next time, go to Rinca and you can see the dragons without a guide. However, you might need to keep a sharp eye out and retreat if you start to get surrounded. Those guys can run faster than you'd think.

Great account of the dragons and your reaction to them. You had good luck with them.
