Koh Samui Hotel Suggestions

We would like a nice reasonably-priced hotel yet does not have to extravagent, on the beach in a semi-quite, but not isolated area, yet close to activites, shopping and night life. We want a great value for our money.

on the suggestion of jamesA from this board we have reserved at the peace resort/bungalow in bophut beach for our june stay....low key, reasonable...somewhat quiet area...but yet easy access to busy areas...

they have a web site to look at

We loved the Central hotel. It's at the opposite end with respect to the town centre, but still very easy to get to 6 we found that it had the best beach area.

I second the Samui Palm Beach hotel.

Quieter try closer to Lamai end of Chaweng beach, also has better beach for swimming in waves the other end is sheltered by a reef. Try latestays.com for ideas & web pages. Just a note, I booked a place that a friend thought was great service etc but it had obviously changed management and i found it not so good [read as "swear words" terrible]. I think the issue is the shortage of staff there at the moment. Almost all the hotels [Samui, Ao Nang and BKK] had ads for staff. Its not to say there its all not so good but a good place last year may not be as good this year. In Ao Nang i stayed at Ao Nang bueri and this was excellent
