koh lanta in dec

i'm considering to spend a week in koh lanta in early/mid dec. the climate seems agreeable at that time of year but does anybody know if the recent flooding in thailand has any effect on koh lanta?

Koh Lanta was not affected by the recent flooding and even for those areas that were affected down South(predominantly Songkra and Koh Samui) the water have receded and life is pretty much back to normal - especially for tourism.

Enjoy!

that's a great relief! thanks so much. it'll be my first trip in koh lanta, though i've been to krabi before. any tips?

I've been to Koh Lanta but did not spend the night there. What do yo need tips on?

tips on where to stay and side trips would be very much appreciated.

i'm a bit confused about all the beaches on koh lanta. it seems that long beach is the hub and has the most activities on. am i right?

we'd like to combine bangkok and koh lanta in the trip. is the overnight coach + ferry trip from bangkok to lanta comfortable/bearable?

Hi again,

I don't feel fully qualify to answers your questions as I've only been there briefly and the area is pretty quite in comparison to Phuket IMO.

There are quite a few trip reports on Koh Lanta and perhaps they can be of help to you. You can perhaps post questions on some recent trip reports and the OP might give a reply to your specific questions.
