Ko Samui in July - crazy or not?

I am planning a beach vacation for July 8 -19 and am looking for sun and beautiful beaches. Given this, should Ko Samui be avoided this time of year or not? Are there less rainy beaches in Thailand during July?

Many thanks,

Colleen

The weather in Koh Samui is fine in July. We were there for 3 days in July last year and there was no rain at all.

Don't worry - it is the dry season in Samui in July - strangely enough though it is the west season in Phuket. Figure that one out.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's the 'dry season' but for sure there is far less rain on the east side on the peninsular ( Koh Samui, Kao Tao, Prachuap, Hua Hin, Cha Am ). Phuket is very wet indeed that time of year.

Concerning the direction of the wind for the upcoming monsoon season, It is true like Sarah has just said, it is drier on Samui side of the Kingdom.
