Ko Phi Phi and Phangnga Bay Logistics

We have 3-4 days to spend in southern Thailand. My top two sites to see are Ko Phi Phi and Phangnga Bay. We will be flying from/to BKK. Can someone recommend the best way to do this? Should I fly to Phuket or Krabi? Can I get a day tour to Phangnga from Phi Phi or do I have to do that from Phuket/Krabi? Can I spend all my nights on Phi Phi or will I need to stay in Phuket/Krabi in order to catch a flight back to BKK (not sure of the frequency of ferries)? Thanks in advance.

I think it's easier to visit Phang Nga bay from Phuket and most of the tour companies are setup there like John Gray's etc. From Phi Phi it's possible to get to Phang Nga bay but most likely by speedboat for private tours.

To get to Phi Phi you can fly to either Phuket airport or Krabi airport.

You can stay at Phuket and buy day trips to Phang Nga and Phi Phi instead.
Have a good trip!

Thank you both. Hanuman, my question about Phuket v. Krabi had more to do with what I will see when I get there and quality of hotels rather than flight availability. Sorry I didn't specify that. Do you have a preference? The overall impression that I'm getting is that Phuket is more party-like and Krabi is quieter and less developed. Is this accurate?

RiniRabbit, everything I've been reading says that a day trip to Phi Phi isn't adequate given that with the ferry time there/back, there isn't sufficient time to enjoy the island. Not sure if I should spend one or two nights there though?

I prefer staying in Phi Phi, but that's just me. Everyone on here has their own preference (some like Phuket, some like Krabi.)

If you do stay on Phi Phi and you don't want to be around the party vibe, I would recommend the east side of the island -- which, while more expensive to stay in, is far more laid back and quiet. The main village at Ton Sai in Phi Phi can be a bit rowdy/backpacker-y.

I would spend at least 2 nights in Phi Phi. Again, that's just me. But it is the most beautiful island/beach/snorkeling that I've found so far in Thailand and it warrants at least 2 full days to enjoy it (at the very least.)

Hi
I mean buy tour for a day trip because it's a short time.
If you would like to visit Phi Phi more, so it's fine just stay at Phi Phi.
