We have had great luck in very buggy places in Costa Rica & Mexico with Buzz Off clothing by Ex Officio. You can get shirts, pants that become shorts and bandanas at outdoor stores or online. The repellent is actually in the fabric and it lasts for 25 washings. We have worn these clothes on jungle trips and in the jungle and rainforest during the wet season and have been fine without DEET. Supplement with SSS on exposed areas and you should be fine.
(And try to stay indoors at dusk.)

Thanks, all, for the great info! I'm learning so much!

Here's the link to Avon's SSS:

Which product do you think is best? I generally prefer something scent free or with a very light scent. Some come in aerosol spray cans, and I'm concerned about being able to take it on the plane, even in checked in luggage?

Also, thanks for the Indian brand suggestion. I'll look for it as well.

Thanks all!

the oil is the most effective, and the best way to avoid any leaks in your luggage is to purchase the wipes in teh individual packets.

All the SSS products smell the same, although the lotions ans soaps are milder.

Jungle Formula seems to be the best
