Knock-offs

Next year I will be in Beijing, Hong Kong and Bangkok - in that order, with stops in between. I plan to do some(alot) shopping and want to by clothes, jewelry, accessories etc.. I have been reading that these places sell alot of knock-offs. The question is, which place would be the best? I don't want to overbuy in China just to find out it is cheaper and there is more selection in Thailand.

Insead of knock-offs, why not buy real items that are unique to those places? The local items are much more interesting and will be better quality.

...and no potential violation of intellectual property. You shouldn't be aiding illegal activities as a tourist, IMO.

Again I have to apologize for my ignorance - W9London, I didn't even think about the illegal aspect. Thank you for pointed it out.

I think it's fun to buy knock-offs. And my buying knock-offs certainly doesn't prevent me from buying quality crafts that are indigenously produced.

I especially like knock-off watches. I bought fake Rados on my last 2 trips to Bangkok -- good quality, and they look terrific.
