Klong Tour
Hi,
On our first day in Bangkok, we figured that we'll just do a Klong tour and take it easy since we'll surely be dead tired/jetlagged. Any suggestions on how to go about getting on a Klong tour? We'll be staying at the ROS. Thanks Rahul |
You can book at the river pier which is right at the Taksin skytrain station.
|
Thanks. Is there a choice? If so, which one do you suggest?
|
Actually, if you're at the ROS, you can get a boat from the booth outside River City shopping center right next door to the ROS.
You actually pay for the boat by time, so what you see depends on how much time you use. Two hours is usually enough, and for that they will usually take you through the Bangkok Noi canal (which isn't really a canal, but the original course of the river) and then usually to Wat Arun. |
ask the hotel to have one come to pick you up at their pier....
or as michael suggests there is a kiosk at river city next to your hotel out by the water....they will get one for you.... 400-600 B per hour is the usual per boat... |
The easiest way to book is at the pier right next to the ROS. Come out of the lobby, take a right, walk until you reach the end of the property and take a right down a short alley. This will take you to the river ferry stop #3. There will be someone at a desk. Just tell him you want to take a Klong tour. I suggest that you take a two hour tour and skip the snake farm and Wat Arun. Wat Arun is best seen on your own at your own pace. It deserves more than a short stop.
The other suggestions will work, but this is the simplest method. |
Thanks for the great advice.

They still have the snake farm back there? I thought that place died years ago. I didn't see it last time I took people on a tour, which was about 8 years ago.
