ok I have a report back about the klong tour...
Yes, the longtail boats qualify as "small" in my opinion. Once we were in them, it was mostly ok, but getting in and out was pretty tricky for me. In fact, one of the women in our group fell getting in (she stepped on a seatbench and it collapsed), hit her face/nose and was gushing blood everywhere. Ended up in the hospital with 4 stitches on the bridge of her nose. I don't mean to cite this as an everyday occurrence, but it did confirm my very worst fears! So, for anyone else with "small boat" phobias, I'd stick with the water taxi boats as they are much bigger & have a ramp to walk on and off. |

That's really horrible, about the person falling getting into the longtail boat. I understand that difficuly, as sometimes it can be tricky. I've never had any falls (knock on wood) getting in or out, and I'm not a swimmer.. so there is a certain "fear" of the water. But if you only go on the bigger water taxi boats, then you'd miss seeing life along one of the smaller klongs. I'd miss that! It's so interesting, IMO. Carol |
Be sure and try to do a water boat tour of some kind at night! I loved it!

JC- looking forward to your trip report! ;)

JC-Was your klong tour one of the Smartours options for the first day? Or did you do it on your own?
