Kindles - transfer your notes
Over the last 9 months we have been compiling notes from travel forums, books, etc.
For those of you who own Kindles, you may consider downloading your notes to your devise. This saves on having to carry multiple guide books. I have just downloaded all of my notes to my Kindle and couldn't be more pleased! We are just tying up loose ends and preparing to leave for India in just one week. |
Down loading stuff is a great was to save and access your travel info. However, I have had =just enough "equiptment malfunctions" to always, always carry a paper copy of the important notes!
|
I was given my kindle to down load travel guides to, but after seeing a friend use hers on a trip I still find a paper guide book easier to use. Maps also loose definition on the kindle. Notes may be a good option, but I think I would agree with Lucy. Dgunbug...I do remember your notes are fabulous, having used them in Vietnam. I am not sure I am tech savvy enough to get mine on the Kindle. Have a great trip , and we look forward to hearing about it as we are coming right behind you.

Good point and we've already printed up a copy of the notes to also bring with us.

Karen - if you look at the kindle website (www.kindle.com) and sign in, it will show you your kindle email address I'd you don't already know it. Then just email your notes as an attachment to that address. Your notes almost instantly appear. It's rather simple.

dgunbug, thanks for that email tip on the kindle. Didn't know about it and this will help for our upcoming trip. Now I can store everything on one device.
One week..... must be exciting. Have a great trip!! Aloha! |
for those who've used both, how does that compare to an iPad?

The Kindle is more of a reader and is not used for internet purposes, although I was able to download my notes and one can download books. The advantage is that the Kindle is much smaller. The disadvantage is that it isn't a computer. However, with my I-phone I can access all my email for free as long as there is free wi-fi connection.
