Kathie..a. Interesting fact I was told after eating banana blossoms is that Caucasians have a difficult time digesting them. I got very sick once eating them and have since stayed away from them. Also those tiny pea sized eggplant are not digest able for some of us. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Safe trip home for you two.

Sorry to hear U became ill but happy U R ok now. It's awful to become sick while on vacation and even worse to have to go into the hospital. As you may recall my wife became ill in India and then after we left there to Bangkok she has to be hospitalized for five days. She was in Samitivej hospital and I was very impressed with the care there and again I'm happy you did not have to stay in the hospital very long.

I would like to hear how you found all Nippon Airways. We fly to Singapore on them around mid February. We have been on them before twice and I really like their service

Hi Kathie,
Happy Thanksivi g! I'm sorry you were sick and glad you are better. We, too, are in Bangkok, finishing our trip to Nepal and Bhtan. Trip report to come later. So far we have not left Anatara Riverside. DH declared that he wants to spend our 3 nights here doing nothing--wait for Bangkok another time and play hotel. He wants to fully savor Bhutan and so since I always get my way when we travel, I have succ
Agreed.
Will post a TR on Nepal and Bhtan when we return to my real computer.had a very comfortable le Asiana business class flight Sfo-Seoul. I bet we traveled on different model planes. Did you fly their Smartium?
Are enjoying Anatara--think it was RKbK who first suggested. Thanks
Anyone have any thoughts where we might have prix fixe French or fusion lunch tomorrow?

The very long flight home did not help me feel better - so spent yesterday relaxing. I will get to the trip report tomorrow.

I agree that all "top 50" lists are arbitrary. It doesn't matter if it is Michelin or San Pellegrino (who sponsored this list) or Joe Doe's top 50. But we thought it would be fun to try the three on the list that are in Bangkok. My conclusions: Gaggan clearly deserves to be on the list (based on our last visit there). I wouldn't put Bo.lan on the list and I am not sure I'd put Nahm on the list - that one is debatable.

I will post a report on my flights on the Air Travel forum. cmstraf, if you had a good flight on Asiana, you were on a different plane than we were.

Ate at Nahm today. Yes, there is a prix fix menu - 1500 baht per person. The food is amazing. The Guinea Hen Larb, however, was so hot we could barely eat it. We enjoyed our meal there."

Nahm was great last month. It's definitely one of my favorites along with the Kebaya Restaurant (Nyonya food) in Penang which were my two favorite meals in 6 weeks of vacation. Now, Sra Bua (Siam Kempinski Hotel) in Bangkok, was another story. Four hours and five minutes for dinner. I thought I'd die and I don't even remember what I ate. My best friend felt the same. It was a belated Christmas gift to her from me. I also ate lunch there, but which was a lot better at three courses.

The chef/owner of Sra Bua is also the same chef/owner of his restaurant in Copenhagen which is the only Thai restaurant to receive a Michelin star. I was in Copenhagen for 2 weeks last summer, but didn't go basically due to the prices of food in Copenhagen. I chatted with him while at Sra Bua.

Keep the restaurant reports coming on future trips!

Happy Travels!
