Kata Beach
 

We are going to be in Thailand for about three weeks in January -our first time, so we will be visiting traditional areas: Bangkok, Lampang, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai - then ending our trip with five days in the south at Kata Beach, Karon.

Wondering if anyone can recommend day trips we might enjoy while at Kata.

We are a couple in our 60s, well traveled and very active. We will already have visited Elephant Nature Park in CM, so probably won't want to do anything like that. Interested in seeing more remote islands or formations, but not diving. We are not into party-type activities, nor large groups.
